About pidan Plant-Based Coffee Cat Litter
pidan Plant-Based Coffee Cat Litter is a clumping cat litter made mainly from pea and soybean fibres, plant starches, and recycled coffee grounds. The coffee grounds and porous plant fibres work together to absorb litter box odours, and the larger pellets are designed to cut down on litter tracked around your home.
It's a good option if you want to move away from traditional clay litter. There are no artificial colours and no added fragrance. The only scent is the light, natural smell of the coffee grounds, which helps cover litter box smells without perfume. Using spent coffee grounds also gives a waste material a second life.
This is pidan's newest coffee litter. It's a different formula from their earlier Tofu Cat Litter with Recycled Coffee Grounds, which is a tofu and bentonite clay mix. This version uses a plant-based blend with larger pellets.

Is pidan Coffee Cat Litter Right for Your Cat?
A good fit if:
- You're tired of finding litter all over the floor. The larger pellets are made to stay in the box.
- You want odour control without perfumes or scented additives.
- You'd like a plant-based alternative to clay litter.
- You like the idea of a litter that reuses coffee grounds.
Maybe not the best choice if:
- Your cat tends to eat or chew litter. Kittens sometimes do this, and litter isn't meant to be eaten.
- Someone in your home avoids gluten and handles the litter. It contains wheat starch.
- Your cat is very particular about texture. Larger pellets feel different from fine clay, so switch slowly.
- You use an automatic litter box that hasn't been confirmed as compatible. Check with the litter box maker first.
Ingredients
Soybean and pea plant fibres, recycled coffee grounds, food-grade cassava starch, food-grade wheat starch, food-grade corn starch, calcium carbonate, silica-based ingredients, guar gum, and other trace components.
Here's what they do. The pea and soybean fibres are porous, so they soak up moisture and trap odours. The coffee grounds add extra odour absorption and a mild natural scent. The starches and guar gum help the litter clump and hold the pellets together.
Allergen notice: Contains gluten from wheat and wheat-derived ingredients.
How to Use
Filling the box: Pour in about 2 to 2.5 inches (5 to 6 cm) of litter and spread it evenly.
Daily care: Scoop waste and clumps at least once a day, and top up with fresh litter as needed.
Full change: Plant-based litters absorb some moisture from the air, so empty the box and start fresh every few weeks. You may need to do this more often in humid weather or with more than one cat.
Where to keep the box: Somewhere dry and well ventilated. Store unopened bags in a cool, dry place.
Switching from another litter: Mix pidan Coffee Cat Litter with your cat's current litter, adding more of the new litter each time. Plan for the switch to take about two full litter changes.
Automatic litter boxes: Check with your litter box manufacturer that it works with this litter before using it.
Flushing and Disposal
Small amounts can be flushed one clump at a time, where your local rules allow it. Never flush a large amount at once, as it can clog your toilet.
Before flushing, check your municipality's rules and your home's plumbing. Don't flush litter if your home uses a septic system. If you're not sure, bag used litter and put it in the garbage.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does pidan coffee cat litter smell like coffee?
Slightly. There's no added fragrance, just the natural aroma of the recycled coffee grounds. It's mild, and its job is to help cover litter box smells rather than make your home smell like a café.
Is coffee cat litter safe for cats?
It's made for everyday litter box use and is free of artificial colours and added fragrance. Like any litter, it isn't meant to be eaten. If your cat or kitten eats litter, switch to a different litter and talk to your vet.
Does it clump?
Yes. The plant starches and guar gum help wet litter form clumps you can scoop out daily.
Does it really reduce tracking?
The pellets are larger and heavier than fine clay litter, so fewer of them stick to paws and get carried out of the box. Placing a litter mat outside the box will help catch the rest.
Is this the same as pidan Tofu Cat Litter with Recycled Coffee Grounds?
No. The older version is a mix of tofu litter and bentonite clay. This new Plant-Based Coffee Cat Litter uses pea and soybean fibres, plant starches, and coffee grounds, with larger pellets designed to reduce tracking.
Can I flush it?
Small amounts can be flushed one at a time where local rules allow. Don't flush large amounts at once, and don't flush if your home is on a septic system. Check your municipality's rules first.
Can I use it in an automatic litter box?
Possibly. Check with your litter box manufacturer to confirm it works with this type of litter before using it.
How much litter do I need?
Fill the box to a depth of about 2 to 2.5 inches. How long a 2.4 kg bag lasts depends on the size of your box and how many cats you have.
