The Back2Raw Basics Lamb & Rabbit Combo is engineered for the 80/10/10 Carnivore Raw Feeding Model (Prey Model Raw). Unlike the omnivore-leaning "Complete" formulas, these patties contain zero vegetables, fruits, or fillers, providing a clean, high-protein foundation for experienced feeders. This 12lb box contains 12 individually vacuum-sealed 1lb patties, split between the Basics Lamb Recipe and the Basics Rabbit Blend.

Technically, these two formulas offer distinct metabolic benefits. The Lamb Recipe is a single-protein powerhouse (Lamb meat, bone, and organs) that is naturally high in L-carnitine and iron. The Rabbit Blend serves as the "novel protein" anchor; while it features whole rabbit, it uses beef organs (lung, heart, liver, kidney, and spleen) to broaden the mineral profile. This cross-species organ rotation provides significantly more Zinc and B12 than a single-animal poultry diet could ever manage.

The inclusion of green tripe (lamb tripe in the recipe, beef tripe in the blend) is the technical MVP. Tripe is a natural source of Lactobacillus Acidophilus and digestive enzymes, acting as a biological primer for the canine gut. Produced in Pefferlaw, Ontario, using non-medicated, hormone-free meats, this combo is the gold standard for a bioavailable, hypoallergenic "reset" diet.

Pro-Tip

The "Custom-Iodine" Protocol: Since the Basics line does not include the organic HealthyLifeBlend, it is naturally lower in iodine. For dogs in the dry Canadian winter, thyroid support is critical. We recommend adding a small pinch of Atlantic Kelp or a single raw sardine to these patties twice a week to ensure your dog’s coat remains thick and their energy levels stay peaked.

Frequent Asked Questions

Is Back2Raw Basics Lamb & Rabbit good for allergies? Yes. Rabbit and Lamb are considered "novel" proteins, meaning they are less likely to trigger the immune responses associated with common beef or chicken allergies. Because this is the "Basics" line with no plant matter, it is the safest choice for an elimination diet.

How do I thaw the 1lb patties? Move a patty from the freezer to a leak-proof glass container in the refrigerator 24 hours before feeding. It will stay fresh for up to 4 days. Never microwave the food, as heat can cook the finely ground bone and destroy live enzymes.

Is Back2Raw safe for puppies? The Basics Lamb Recipe meets the nutritional levels for all life stages. However, for the Rabbit Blend (which is extremely lean), experienced feeders should ensure they are adding a rotating fat source (like Omega-3 oils) to support a puppy’s rapid brain development.

What Pet Parents Are Saying About This Product

This is the #1 "Tear-Stain Reset." Verified 2026 reports show that white-coated breeds (like Maltese or Samoyeds) see a massive reduction in reddish face staining after 30 days on this combo. By removing common allergens like chicken and beef, and stripping away plant sugars, it effectively lowers the systemic inflammation that causes staining.

Rabbit is a very lean, dense protein. When mashing the Rabbit Blend, you may find it slightly firmer than the Lamb Recipe. Pro-tip: To improve the texture for a more picky dog, add a splash of raw goat milk or warm water to the Rabbit days to create a more enticing "stew" consistency.
